The above technological platforms and applications will be used to supplement the British Curriculum that is used at Ramsis:


  1. Through the zoon platform, teachers will conduct LIVE lessons following the schedule of class timings.
  2. Prior to conducting lessons, parents will sign a consent for their child to enter live lessons
  3. Parents must agree that an adult will be with supervising their child during the sessions
  4. Meeting ID and passcodes will be given for each teacher
  5. During lessons, students will have their cameras on and mics muted until teacher unmutes mics for discussion with peers
  6. Group events will also be conducted for purposes of distance celebrations such as Parent meetings, Staff meetings, Parent teacher meetings, Wellbeing morning sessions, Flag Day, National Day, and MOE sponsored competitions


The application is used by teachers, parents, and students. Teachers assign homework for students via worksheets, videos, activity sheets, etc. Parents can check to see that their child’s work is checked by the teacher. Completed assignments are placed in the student portfolio. Teachers check the work, mark it as approved; then write constructive comments. There is a manager of Class Dojo to ensure that students’ work is being checked with comments.

Parents will receive messages through Ramsis Telegram with class schedules, teacher ZOOM IDs and Passcodes, tutorial videos on Class Dojo and how to access the website. Parents will also receive updates as events change due to the Covid19 pandemic.

Teachers will use the platforms and apps to provide resources, support and deliver lessons, tutorials to enable learning to continue. Teachers are also able to provide feedback to students through written and verbal video communication. In addition to the above platforms and apps, other applications and websites will be utilized to enhance learning. Some supplemental resources include:

In addition to an online learning schedule of classes, students will have a zero hour activity each morning starting at 7:45 to 8:00. This activity includes the national anthem, wellbeing activity conducted by the PE teacher, and Health Awareness conducted by REPS Nurse.

KG and grades 1 to 6 will have different schedules to accommodate the age appropriate amount of screen time and activities.

Parents are asked to support students in providing electronic devices, a quiet environment for students to study, and help them with adhering to class schedules.

Achieving success in distance education is dependent on close communication between the teacher, student, and parent. The parent works with the child to organize and complete assigned school work.  Parents play a vital role and are the key link between class teachers and their students.

The role of the parent is to guide, encourage, and support students with making sure students attend class on time, complete assignments, and provide a secure and positive environment. Parents should also:

  • Ensure that students attend live ZOOM classes on time and are attentive
  • Encourage students to do their best
  • Provide an environment conducive to learning (access to technology, safe and quiet space during the day)
  • Support emotional balance by providing room and time for physical activity, family games, and play
  • Support children with keeping due dates
  • Sharing learning experiences with family members
  • Be aware of the E-Safety Policy and guidelines for monitoring children’s online activities
  • Give children information about how to detect inappropriate online content and activity

School Social Worker

  • Maintain open lines of communication with all parents
  • Maintain attendance records as directed by the MOE
  • Conduct ZOOM meeting with parents regarding student wellbeing
  • Communicate with the Principal regarding any parent complaint
  • Maintain Child Protection Policy and impart information to the school community

Administrative Assistant

  • Maintain the school website with student and teacher information
  • Coordinate with the IT technician
  • Translate English to Arabic communication to teachers and parents
  • Troubleshoot for parents who are having technology issues
  • Train teachers with the use of website features including attendance monitoring, submission of weekly and lesson plans
  • Create and maintain E-Safety Policy and communicate to the school community
  • Maintain the E-Safety Messenger Channel
  • Organize testing (school based and international)


Distant Learning Misuse and Inappropriate Behavior

We understand that students will take time to adjust to distant learning and the expectations. However, students’ learning is of the utmost importance and Ramsis will not allow any one student or groups of students to disturb the learning process.

In the event a student does not follow the actions stated in this policy, a referral will be made by the teacher to the school social worker. After investigation, the school will follow a systematic approach:


1st Instance – verbal warning from the teacher

2nd Instance – written warning to parents

3rd Instance – Written warning

4th Instance – Online meeting with principal and parents

5th Instance – Formal notification of temporary or permanent exclusion from distant learning, including all online platforms and virtual learning environments. Online meeting with Principal.
